Learn about the core, research-based correctional practices for eliciting change and reducing recidivism for people in the criminal justice system. Understand what the Risk, Need, and Responsivity principles are and why they should drive our work with clients releasing from incarceration. In addition, all eight (8) core correctional practices will be discussed, with excercise in two of the practices.
Presenter: Bridget Letnes, Minnesota Department of Corrections
Bridget Letnes is the Statewide Recidivism Reduction Project Team Leader at the Minnesota Department of Corrections. Previously, Mrs. Letnes served as the Corrections Program Director at the Correctional Facility in Faribault, MN supervising case management and transitions staff. She also served as a Transition Coordinator at two correctional facilities and Prison Reentry Initiative Coordinator with the Department. Prior to her experience with the DOC, Mrs. Letnes served as the Program Director at a community-based correctional halfway house in Minneapolis. Mrs. Letnes earned her Masters of Business Administration and has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice.
