Interested in meeting with your legislator at the Second Chance Day on the Hill?

Want to feel more prepared discussing Second Chance legislation?

The most impactful way for you to influence the polices that impact you and those you care about is by meeting in person with your legislators. On March 7^th, the Minnesota Second Chance Coalition will be hosting Second Chance Day on the Hill. Attend this prep session to learn about the details of Second Chance Day on the Hill and how to effectively talk to your legislators. We will also be discussing the legislative priorities for this year’s Day on the Hill: Restore the Vote, Fines and Fees, and Probation Reform.

Impacted individuals are welcome to attend this event. Service providers are encouraged to bring guests that are affected by these issues.

Presenter(s):

Deanna Smiley Gulliford- Second Chance Coalition and Goodwill Easter-Seals

Deanna works as the Director of Public Affairs at Goodwill Easter-Seals Minnesota. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Second Chance Coalition.

Anna Odegaard- Minnesota Asset Building Coalition

Anna works as the Legislative Advocate for the Minnesota Asset Building Coalition and will be presenting on fines and fees.

Sarah Walker-

Sarah Walker currently works as a lobbyist government affairs consultant and the founder of the Minnesota Second Chance Coalition. She has extensive experience in public policy and her work is widely recognized. She will be presenting on Probation Reform.

Ben Feist- ACLU-MN

Ben is the Legislative Director ACLU-MN and will provide information for Restore the Vote.
